St. Maarten Gallery
In May 2014 I was able to get a very inexpensive flight to St. Maarten with Delta, stopping in New York City on the way. St. Maarten is a “must” for photographers and aviation enthusiasts alike: the island’s airport is located directly at the beach! This means that all incoming planes will fly closely above your head while you are enjoying the Caribbean beauty of Maho Beach. It is also famous for the jet blast you will encounter when a plane takes off: as jet engines produce a lot of power, everything (including the sturdiest tripods) will get blown away! On this trip I had the MeFoto GlobeTrotter in use that I borrowed from a friend.
